Hi! I’m Heather, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be Aunt Lucy’s professional dog groomer!

I’ve been involved in the dog industry for around 7 years, but in 2022, I truly discovered my passion for grooming. I had the incredible opportunity to train and work under an award-winning master groomer, which not only deepened my knowledge but also inspired me to strive for excellence every day.

Since then, I’ve been honoured to receive multiple first and second-place awards in grooming competitions, along with showing my NSDT Retriever to his championship title — with hopes of earning his grand championship soon!

When I’m not grooming or in the show ring, you can usually find me out enjoying the fresh air or participating in various dog sports. Working with dogs isn’t just what I do — they are a passion of mine.

What Does Dog Grooming Include at Aunt Lucy's?

At Aunt Lucy’s, every groom is designed for coat health, comfort, and a calm experience—never rushed, always individualized. We use premium, hypoallergenic formulations and low-stress handling so dogs leave clean, comfortable, and confident.

What You Can Expect at Every Appointment

Low-stress, safety-first handling. If your pup becomes overly stressed or a step poses a safety risk, we may pause or skip that part and revisit it later. Your dog’s welfare comes first.
Free daycare option on groom day. Drop off as early as 6:00am and pick up by 6:00pm. Dogs can join supervised playgroups or relax in a private, calm area if you prefer. (Included with any grooming appointment.)
Capacity & hours. Up to 4 full grooms per day. Groomer onsite 7:30am–3:30pm; facility open 6:00am–6:00pm.
Premium, hypoallergenic care. We select products for skin health and coat performance, not fragrance. Scent-free is available.

Haircut (Full Groom)

A full, nose-to-tail tidy with attention to coat health and finish quality. Includes:

Warm bath with Beau house shampoo—hypoallergenic, tear-free, sulfate-free, pH-balanced; leaves coats soft and lustrous while absorbing odours (scent-free available).
Best Shot ear cleaning to help prevent wax build-up and deodorize.
Blow dry and fluff dry to straighten and set the coat for a smooth, full finish.
Brush & comb out for a neat, even result; nail grinding for short, smooth nails; paw-pad clipping for tidy feet; sanitary trim for comfort.
Custom haircut from nose to tail; finishing touch (bandana and optional light cologne).

Shedless (Bath + De-Shed)

Engineered to reduce shedding at home while respecting skin barrier health. Includes:

Warm bath with Beau shampoo and conditioner—hypoallergenic, tear-free, sulfate-free, pH-balanced (scent-free available).
Best Shot ear cleaning; blow dry; thorough de-shed and comb-out to lift undercoat; nail grinding; paw-pad clipping; optional foot/ear trim; finishing touch.

Hand Stripping (Wire/Harsh Coats)

Technique-driven coat management for terriers and wire coats to preserve texture, colour, and skin health.

Optional warm bath with SOOS Dead Sea Mineral Mud—therapeutic, Vitamin E-enriched; helps detoxify, moisturize, and soothe irritated skin.
Best Shot ear cleaning; blow dry; brush & comb; hand stripping; scissor work as needed; nails; paw-pad tidy; finishing touch.
Note: We do not perform scissor work without a bath (to protect finish quality and tool hygiene).

Premium Coat Care Upgrade

An elevated coat-care sequence using Hyponic deep-cleaning, volumizing shampoo (show coat quality; maintains natural oils; fuller finish) with a clean, cypress scent that isn’t overpowering. (Not included in Full Groom)

Exfoliating Scrub

Gentle, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free exfoliation massaged into skin to lift dead skin, reduce itching, and improve coat turnover — ideal for dry/flaky skin, seasonal sheds, or allergy-prone pups. (Not included in Full Groom)

Ear Plucking

When indicated for certain breeds. (Not included in Full Groom — optional)

Best Shot Ear Cleaning

Helps prevent wax build-up and deodorize. (Included in Full Groom)

Hinoki Cypress Alcohol-Free Ear Cleanse

Hinoki cypress is naturally antibacterial and calming; alcohol-free formula is gentle for sensitive ears. (Not included in Full Groom — optional upgrade)

De-Matting (Humane, Time-Bound)

Light tangles only; when extensive, a reset trim may be the kinder option. (Not included in Full Groom — billed only if required)

Nail Grinding

Smooth, short finish for comfort and safety. (Included in Full Groom)

Paw-Pad Clipping

Tidy, cleaner feet, improved grip. (Included in Full Groom)

Finishing Touches

Bandana and optional light cologne. (Included in Full Groom — optional cologne)

Important: We do not perform anal gland expression. In BC, this is a medical procedure and must be completed by a veterinarian.
